Puente Romano Marbella has once again placed itself at the heart of elite sport and the summer social scene thanks to the unprecedented success of the Reserve Cup Marbella, presented by Sierra Blanca Estates.
Over three exceptional days, the stars competing for points towards the largest prize fund in padel history were joined by leading figures from the world of sport who attended as spectators.
THE TOURNAMENT
The energy of the 2026 edition still lingers at the resort’s legendary Puente Romano Tennis Club, where the Reserve Cup Marbella 2026 took place over three glittering nights, from 18 to 20 June, as the second stop on the 2026 Reserve Cup Series following Miami.
The Reserve Cup is the flagship tournament of Reserve Padel, founded and led by its CEO, Wayne Boich, with Jimmy Butler as honorary president. In 2026, it is being held as part of the Reserve Cup Series, touring some of the world’s most iconic destinations, including Puente Romano Marbella. The tournament places the resort at the heart of the international padel calendar.
The setting was unrivalled. The iconic Manolo Santana centre court, named in honour of the late Grand Slam champion and former director of the resort’s club, was transformed with a competition-standard Reserve Cup glass court, specially designed for the tournament, to host three thrilling nights of sport set against the backdrop of La Concha mountain and the Mediterranean.
THE MATCHES
After two days of the teams being level, the title was decided practically at the very last moment of the match, with Team Sierra Blanca being crowned champions. The final session began with the first-ever women’s division in the tournament’s history, an intense three-day debut in which Ale Alonso and Lara Arruabarrena came from behind to win 4-6, 6-4 and 11-9 in a super tie-break that had the crowd on their feet.
Next came the most eagerly anticipated match of the tournament, in which Arturo Coello and Javi Garrido beat Alejandro Galán and Leo Augsburger in another tie-break to seal the title.
Arruabarrena and Coello were named the tournament’s most outstanding players, the ‘MVPs’.
THE STARS IN THE STANDS
Off the court, the 2026 Marbella Reserve Cup once again brought together some of sport’s biggest names at Puente Romano Marbella. Carlos Alcaraz, Sergio Busquets, Carlos Moyá, Patrick Rafter, Sergio Scariolo, Dean Huijsen and Dani Ceballos were among those watching from the courtside, whilst singer Ana Mena added even more summer glamour to the atmosphere.
Off the court, the players made Puente Romano Marbella their home for the duration of the tournament, staying at the resort’s all-suite hotel and enjoying the restaurants situated around La Plaza. Carlos Alcaraz was also spotted enjoying the sea views at the iconic La Petite Maison Marbella restaurant.

THE FUTURE
During the closing ceremony, Luca Allegri, CEO of Luxury Hotel Partners, the management group that includes Puente Romano Marbella in its international portfolio, presented the awards; while Lisandro Vieytes, Deputy Mayor of Marbella, confirmed that the Reserve Cup will remain in the city for the next four years.
With a total prize purse of US$700,000, the 2026 edition is shaping up to be the most exciting to date, and Puente Romano Marbella will host the tournament again in 2027.
