An event not to be missed: a traditional gala dinner at Café de la Ópera
On 25 October, Café de la Ópera, an international benchmark for the fusion of gastronomy and opera in the heart of Madrid, will celebrate World Opera Day with a very special event combining music, gastronomy and tradition.
The event will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the gastrobar, where customers can enjoy live performances free of charge. The celebration will also extend to the restaurant’s terrace in front of the Teatro Real, bringing music to the street and sharing the spirit of opera with locals and visitors alike.
Starting at 8:30 p.m., the eagerly awaited Opera Day Gala Dinner will take place, which can be attended with prior reservation. It will feature an exclusive menu created for the occasion, accompanied by a unique show: the artists of the El Café de la Ópera Lyric Company, dressed in period costumes, will perform some of the most representative arias from opera and pay tribute to the most famous romances from Spanish zarzuela, honouring this lyrical genre born in Spain and part of our country’s cultural heritage.
With more than 25 years of history, El Café de la Ópera has consolidated its ‘Cena Cantada’ (Singing Dinner) concept, in which renowned opera singers, together with top-level pianists, turn each evening into a unique experience.
