ELM - Rafael & Dytyniuk

On 18 September, Art Victory Gallery at Hotel Guadalpin Marbella brought together two artists from very different generations and artistic languages for an evening that combined an exhibition, live music and a live painting show.

On one side, Rafael, the 13-year-old young painter from Marbella, presented his large-scale acrylics of figurative characters, in which he engages in dialogue with masters such as Picasso, Dalí and Munch, as well as with the legacy of Velázquez and El Greco. Full of colour and vitality, his works address the viewer directly with a freshness rarely seen at his age.

On the other, Ukrainian artist Denis Dytyniuk took centre stage with his Live Speed Painting Show: a portrait created in just a few minutes in front of the audience, painting with one or both hands, rotating the canvas and layering acrylics until the final image is revealed, with the artist himself becoming part of the work.

Amid portraits, conversations and toasts, guests and art lovers enjoyed an evening that proved painting can be experienced both through quiet contemplation and through the thrill of a live performance.
