The 7th BUILDING THE FUTURE Charity Dinner brings together 300 guests and allocates €40,000 to social projects on the Costa del Sol and in Uganda
ALAS, ASPANDEM, and AVOI each received €5,000, while WEFO received €25,000 to continue driving various projects in Uganda.
The BUILDING THE FUTURE Association held the seventh edition of its traditional Charity Dinner at the Hotel Don Carlos in Marbella, an event that brought together 300 guests, including business leaders, real estate professionals, collaborators, and friends of the association.
For this seventh edition, BUILDING THE FUTURE allocated a total of €40,000 to four associations. ALAS received €5,000; ASPANDEM, €5,000; AVOI, €5,000; and WEFO, €25,000, earmarked for the continued development of various projects the association supports in Uganda. Additionally, more than 50 companies made donations or collaborated with BUILDING THE FUTURE this year, making it possible to hold another edition of this initiative, which unites real estate professionals and companies from the Costa del Sol around various social causes.
A night to keep making a difference
Over its seven editions, the fundraising dinner has become a key event on the BUILDING THE FUTURE calendar and a meeting point for the companies, professionals, and collaborators who support its various initiatives. José Carlos León, President of BUILDING THE FUTURE, highlighted the importance of maintaining this long-term commitment: “Reaching the seventh edition demonstrates that there are many people and companies behind BUILDING THE FUTURE who are willing to get involved. Each contribution allows us to continue helping local associations while also sustaining projects in Uganda that require long-term support. What matters is that all this collective effort translates into concrete actions.”
The traditional charity dinner auction, which raised a significant amount of money, featured a painting by Curro Leyton, a piece of jewelry by Manuel Spinosa, a trunk donated by Colección Alexandra, a day on the yacht *Invictus* donated by Modulnova, and four Spanish national football team jerseys signed by Laporte, Unai Simón, Nico Williams, and Cucurella.
New initiatives in Uganda
A portion of the funds raised has been allocated to various initiatives that BUILDING THE FUTURE carries out in Uganda through the Ugandan foundation WEFO. Planned activities for 2026 and 2027 include the launch of the orphanage located next to the school—which is already in the final stages of construction—and covering the necessary steps for its opening, as well as staff salaries and costs for food and equipment. Various improvements will also be undertaken at the Rwenzori Focus school, including work on the flooring of buildings 1 through 4 and repairs to the outdoor walkways alongside the classrooms.
BUILDING THE FUTURE will also continue to support the women’s handicrafts project by purchasing materials that enable them to keep producing. The goal is for them to move toward self-sufficiency by 2027 through the sale of their products.
In addition to these activities, a drinking water project for the school and the orphanage is being implemented. In response to the extreme drought affecting Kasese, plans are in place to carry out pipeline repairs to bring potable water from a spring located about two kilometers from the school.
“In Uganda, we want to continue supporting projects already underway and addressing emerging needs. The hostel, the school, access to water, and the women’s project require continuity to move forward and achieve long-term results,” noted José Carlos León.

Seven editions of a commitment to solidarity
Since the inception of BUILDING THE FUTURE, over 500 companies have participated in and collaborated with the initiative, and more than 17 associations on the Costa del Sol have received its support. Furthermore, the work carried out in Uganda has made it possible to support the schooling of over 430 students and provide care for more than 120 orphaned children.
The first edition began with a padel tournament and events linked to the real estate sector. Over the years, BUILDING THE FUTURE has incorporated new sporting activities and a fundraising dinner, thereby expanding opportunities for participation and collaboration.
The charity calendar continues
BUILDING THE FUTURE’s activities will continue over the coming months with new events designed to bring the sector together and maintain support for its charitable projects.
On Sunday, September 27, the Charity 5K took place as part of the Marbella Half Marathon organized by Run-On; the inaugural Charity Ryder Cup Golf Tournament is scheduled for November 18; and the 7th Padel Tournament is set to be held at the Villa Padierna Racquet Club from November 20 to 22. These activities will continue a calendar that combines sporting events, corporate participation, and fundraising for the various initiatives backed by BUILDING THE FUTURE.
