EXPANSION AND IMPROVEMENTS
Precisely, and in this line of continuing to improve its facilities, the new hospitalisation area at the Quirónsalud Marbella Hospital is already operational. The space is distributed in 13 rooms, of which 3 are suites. It occupies over 600 square metres, and is equipped with the most innovative medical care information systems and technical-digital advances which benefit and streamline doctor-patient-nursing relationships, making them smooth and constant.
With this new step, the hospital centre, which occupies a privileged location on the beachfront at the entrance to the city of Marbella, on Severo Ochoa Avenue, has 80 rooms, the majority with sea views, which ensures an even more harmonious, warm, pleasant atmosphere.
In order to get an idea of the scale of the improvements and investments made by Quirónsalud in its hospital in Marbella, we would highlight that one million euros has been invested in the 1,000 square metres of its new fourth floor alone. Thus, this area shares space with the Day Hospital, along with the newly-opened Nursing Station, which has been equipped with a novel patient-nurse communication system via video-calling.
DIGITAL ROOMS
With the firm purpose of improving the patient’s experience and stay, the “digital room” project has been implemented in Quirón Marbella, which, by extension, provides professionals with the most advanced tools for the diagnosis and treatment of different pathologies.

Each of the hospital rooms has a tablet device, with which patients can access the “Patient Portal”. This window contains all the information and data of their medical history. In a further step to being at the forefront, patients have the possibility to surf the Internet and watch television.
The rooms are equipped with the new “digital rooms” system, so that patients and their families have all kinds of entertainment at their disposal, such as on-demand video on the most popular digital platforms, such as Netflix, HBO and others. The automation system also allows the patient to switch on, regulate and switch off the lights in the room.
HUMANISATION OF HOSPITALISATION
As a preview, we can reveal that in the second phase of this hospital humanisation project, it will be possible for orders to be made to the kitchen and programmed times of pending medical tests consulted, as well as the entire history of the admission, from the room tablet. We are currently working on other advances related to the automation system, such as being able to control the temperature of the room, and the blinds.
