WHAT does it mean that ARK Architects does not build houses, but rather, creates experiences? 

For us, the definition of Architecture is to create a space where people can carry out their daily routines. But, above all, we must not ignore the fact that architecture is a multisensory experience. We aspire to transmit an experience that helps people improve their daily lives, to make things easier, and so they can achieve something even more sublime: happiness.

Why does ARK develop its projects in Costa del Sol?

It’s a bit of a coincidence: we —the founders— are from this area and we started our professional career here. But we find that Costa del Sol is a geographically privileged environment. It has a unique D NA, and it’s very powerful when it comes to lifestyle. This has led to the development of several luxury holiday resorts that accommodate the customer target with which we work.

We specialize in creating villas for a specific client with specific needs, a specific situation and for a specific location. We don’t produce serial architecture. Our work is comparable to that of making “custom suits”. We are like high gastronomy applied to Architecture.

Architecture always moves between two areas: Art and utility. How does ARK Architects work to strike a balance in those areas?  

Finding the point in which a project exquisitely fulfills the function for which it is designed, but also being able to break through the barriers that the function imposes, and aspiring to achieve absolute beauty, is the key to the entire project. If you are able to reach that point, you will be able to create something truly unique and inspiring.
